General Cosmetic Tattooing Questions
What is cosmetic tattooing?
Cosmetic tattooing, also known as permanent makeup or micropigmentation, is a technique that uses tiny needles to implant pigment into the skin, enhancing or recreating features like eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips.
How long does cosmetic tattooing last?
While results can vary, cosmetic tattooing typically lasts between 1-3 years. Factors like skin type, aftercare, and exposure to sun can affect longevity.
Is the procedure painful?
Most clients experience minimal discomfort. We use topical anesthetics to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.
How long does the procedure take?
The duration varies depending on the area being treated. Most procedures take between 1-3 hours, including consultation and aftercare instructions.
Is cosmetic tattooing safe?
Yes, when performed by a trained professional in a sterile environment. We adhere to strict hygiene standards and use only approved pigments.
What's the recovery process like?
Recovery is typically quick, with most clients returning to normal activities immediately. Some redness and swelling may occur but usually subsides within a few days.
How soon will I see results?
You'll see immediate results, but the final look will develop over 4-6 weeks as the skin heals and the pigment settles.
Can I get cosmetic tattooing if I have sensitive skin?
In most cases, yes. However, we recommend a patch test for clients with sensitive skin or allergies.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications for 24 hours before your appointment. Come with a clean, makeup-free face.
Will my cosmetic tattoo look natural?
Absolutely! Our goal is to enhance your natural features subtly. We customize each procedure to complement your unique facial structure and coloring.
How often do I need touch-ups?
We recommend a touch-up session 6-8 weeks after your initial procedure. After that, annual touch-ups can help maintain your results.
Can cosmetic tattooing be removed if I change my mind?
While cosmetic tattoos can be removed or corrected, it's best to think of them as semi-permanent. We always start conservatively to ensure you're happy with the results.
